CAPCOM is holding launch event for Resident Evil Revelations which comes out on 3DS in February:
"The event, which also serves as a launch event for Biohazard Revelations, will feature appearances from special guests and development staff. Will Capcom also take the opportunity to make some announcements?Tune in on friday!"

Concerning the bolded part, there is now a viral website owned by Capcom online, featuring a China setting and the slogan "no more hope."

At the top you will see the note "one day to go until the 19th" Interestingly, there was a rumor last year that RESIDENT EVIL 6 is going to be set in China.

Finally, the first trailer for Resident Evil Retribution and the North American demo for Resident Evil Revelations 3DS will also debut tomorrow.

The early version of RE4 seems to be so much better. It's more cinematic given the camera movement. It's too bad the series went to dogshit with RE5.

RE6 looks terrible too. They took the subtlety out of the earlier games and made it into a big-budget wankfest. God.

Games like the original RE's would NOT fly these days. Sorry. It doesn't look terrible at all. The Leon section looks like a Raccoon City style incident and the Chris stuff looks closer to RE5. It's like a mix. I think it looks fantastic and extremely varied.

A subtle survival horror game could work if made correctly. They jumped the shark with 4 with all of that wankery. The series was never an action series: it was survival horror, with an atmosphere that is designed to creep you out. I still maintain that the last great sequel in the series is Code Veronica. The atmosphere in that game is phenomenal and it always creeps me out. There are many instances in that game where you can just sit there and marvel at the imagery while the equally-subtle music is played across the unnerving set pieces. Check this out:



They don't make these games like that anymore. The creepy effect I mentioned was not present for me in RE4 or in the little bit of RE5 I played, which I abandoned after the motorcycle action set piece.

I wish, for once, they'd make another RE game in the vein of RE2, Code Veronica, and the RE remake that was put out on the Gamecube. The latter is so goddamned atmospheric that it too unnerves me when I play it. It's a stellar game on every front.

I agree 100% but we're not going to get that kind of game now, not in today's market. And some press statements revealed that the Leon portions of the game would be closer to the style of the older games, with that new town experiencing a viral outbreak and the enemies being pure zombies.

I also absolutely loved the score in CV.
