Today is the Ninth Anniversary of the release of Order of the Phoenix

On June 21, 2003 Harry Potter fans everywhere were thrilled to receive the fifth book in a seven-book series, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. After an unprecedented three-year wait between the fourth and fifth books, Phoenix did not disappoint with both its page count and emotional depth far surpassing the previous novels.
Pre-orders for the book on Amazon.co.uk topped a quarter million, compared to just 65,000 pre-orders for Goblet of Fire in 2000. Worldwide, Phoenix received over 875,000 pre-orders. Over 8.5 million books were printed as part of the initial U.S. print run for Phoenix.

In The Order of the Phoenix, readers witnessed the tragic death of a mentor for Harry, faced the terrifying reality of Lord Voldemort returning to full power, and met for the first time a quirky colleague of Harry's named Luna Lovegood. Yesterday on Twitter, Evanna Lynch (who portrayed Luna in the film adaptations) wrote the following about the significance of the date: "Happy Literary Birthday Order of the Phoenix and LUNA LOVEGOOD! Woohoo! 9 years since we met!! :)"

I didn't realize that the 5th and 7th books came out exactly four years apart. I wasn't really into Harry Potter when the 5th book came out, I was only 7 and only had a passing interest, not having read past the third book. Of course, now that's all changed!

Oooh, I remember the dutch translation came out on the first of December so I got it for Sinterklaas, de Dutch Santa Clause who has his birthday on the fifth of December. I remember being sooo happy. Had no idea it was so long ago!

This is my absolute favourite book in the series!

Wow. My favorite of the whole 7. I wasn't a fan back then, but when I got to read OOTP I couldn't put it down.

I remember OOTP being one of my favourites out of them all. It might have been my favourite actually, I can't remember. But I can just remember how good it was and I remember thinking how amazing the whole Ministry of Magic part at the end was and how it was one of the best action I had ever read.

This book is my least
favourite too. Maybe because It had some boring pages in it or perhaps It was longest one. I think. Still It had some really good parts in it. Good book I shall say. Happy Anniversary.
