I've liked Harry Potter for eleven years (since I was five) and I've been obsessed for about seven and a half (since I was eight-nineish). So I said 10+ because that's how long I've enjoyed it, though If you meant how long it's been the center of my world I would have said 5-9.

1-4 years

I've been a fan since Film 1 and I saw every movie the day it came out. But just the summer 2010 going into DH1, I became a huge and highly obsessive fan. I started listening to Mugglecast and visiting every Potter site imaginable, I joined lurked then joined COSForums lol. So I really couldn't call myself a fan and be in the same group as you guys until Summer 2010 when the MTV teaser came out. I've never looked back since :)

I've been a fan since the very beginning, after going to see the first film with my parents and sister. If you want more justification; this is the series that got me into reading. I doubt I'd have read anything unless Harry Potter was there for me. It was read to me by my parents, and it has since been read, by me, numerous times. Even after the end, I remain a fan!

Why wouldn't it be? To be a Harry Potter fan is to be a Harry Potter fan. It doesn't matter how long you've been one. What matters is that you are one.

I think I have said this before, but no harm repeating it! :)
Borrowed the book from a friend when I was in 8th standard (the year was 2001 and I was 13 years old), just because I was quite curious to know what the fuss was all about regarding this book called Harry Potter. Fell in love since then. It has been 11 years since then and I thank God I came across this series. It has affected my life in more ways than I can possibly count.

But I do think that being a movie fan without reading the books is different. I feel it kind of robs you of the entire experience. When whoever tells me they love the movies, I always encourage them to read all the books!!
