What did you like about the Olympics opening ceremony the most?

Um, I liked actually loved J.K Rowling's appearance, Voldy was fine though I think he looked a little too fake dunno why. And Obviously My Team's parade (Pakistan).

The grand finale with the next generation's torches lighting all the torches afterward representing every country then coming together and uniting to create the Cauldron unified was a beautiful display. That was my favorite moment.

But in particular. I loved the start, with the whole scenery of that grassy village, it was so stunning. Other memorable moments were Sir Kenneth Branagh, J.K ROWLING!!!! Voldemort. So much, I loved it.

The most mind-blowing moment in my opinion was the industrial "scene", the way the chimneys were brought up from the ground was fantastic, and the wide shots of everything in place was really beautiful.

All in all a really great ceremony, kudos to the brits. :)

Tbh Beijing's ceremony was more bombastic and flashy. Englands was toned down a bit and showcased more of a story than just flashy things, fireworks etc. Thats what I admired so much. England, Athens and Atlanta are my top three favorite opening ceremonies :3

I saw quite a bit on youtube, I haven't watched the whole thing though. RyGuy's post seems to be the most common opinion I heard from people though, the british ceremony seems to be less on the technical side but more on the theatrical side.

I agree with @Mamoun it was definitely more on the theatrical side whereas Beijing's came off more polished and technical. We have to remember the differences of culture in these two ceremonies too. Beijing was beautiful in it's own way as was London.
