HPF Interviews: Rules (Interviewee of the Week: @Lord Stafford)

Why?
To help keeping the forum active and to know the people over here better, I thought it would be a great idea if we performed interviews with users around here every week. It's a great way to know us better and have fun :D

How?
Every week, we are going to create a pool and people will vote for the interviewee of the week. The user with most votes will have a thread created where we will ask questions, to literally interview the user.

What kind of questions?
You can ask anything, but remember: the interviewee can't be forced to answer personal questions and we must respect his/her will. As people are free to ask whatever they want, the interviewee is also free to answer whatever he/she wants.

How we are going to select the users to compete in the poll?
I'm actually thinking about it still. I have came up with two options: select the people on both leader's board or people choose 3 users and send the names by PM. Then, we would put the names in the poll, having its final result.

How long will the interview lasts?
One week, where, after that period, we will select another user to interview.

I've been voted in the poll and I don't wanna be interview
It's perfectly fine! We are only going to open the interview thread with the permission of the user.

What do you think, guys? Questions? Can you please help me with suggestions?

I think it's a fantastic idea but I prefer the PM option to choose interviewees rather than the leaderboards, because the latter includes only a select few people who usually remain in that spot every week. Using PM includes everyone in the voting process. :)

Yeah, I wouldn't mind something that goes a bit faster either. Just as long as it involves the entire forum. :D

And I think your idea is cool too, Jeff! What if I write the names on papers and choose 5 users for a poll? I think a poll is a good idea because it's democratic. :D

Do I have access to a list of the last active users in the forum? Because it's hard to put everybody. It's a lot of people!

I'd love this, but I agree random choosing would be better.

Just make some announcement thread to get everyone to allow permission for them to be interviewed, assign them all a #, and pick at random.

I think the random selection idea is the best and I like Martin's idea about how to come up with knowing who is active and actually wanting to be interviewed!

Guys. I'll collect the names until 6pm ET (USA).

So... Should we sort one name and just create the thread? I was thinking of sorting 5 names and then creating a poll. I think it would be more fun as part of the process. I know that many of you said that randomizing only is better. But what do you say? Wouldn't you think that a poll would bring more expectations to it? :D

Random is better, it's just simple. There's no need for a big process in determining who is in the hot seat for a week.

I think random would be better because even for polls we'd have to wait. Random can be done quickly with no problems.

Plus all the polls are public. Some people may not want to see how many votes they got or didn't get, loll. Some people may not want others to see who they voted for, etc etc. random just makes it all easier imo
