"THE HOBBIT: The Desolation of Smaug" "What We Know Now"

Okay now that "An Unexpected Journey" has been released, we can finally move to Desolation of Smaug and see what promotional material we already have.

Okay first off, Im finding a lot of stills from Mirkwood







and this particular one below is directly out of the book when

when Bombur falls into the River crossing into Mirkwood and he's under a spell and he sleeps for days

In a particular still when Gandalf was introducing the Dwarves and got to Gloin he's covered in spiderweb. This is definitely before the the movies were turned into three, so now this particular scene is pushed back.




Next the infamous fight between Gandalf and Thrain and judging from these stills Gandalf is going to get a beat down.







Okay now I just remembered this, here is a still from the first trailer showing Bilbo looking for the Ring in apparantly in Mirkwood, so Bilbo looses the ring?




And little note from the EW magazine last month,

Spoiler:

Bilbo and the spiders will have a psychic connection

And last but not least, Bilbo inside the mountain with the gold, if you look really close at Bilbo's hand, you will see that he has the ring on so while looking for the Arkenstone.

This makes me more happy that Pete made three films because if all of that with Mirkwood was suppose to be in the first film then it would've felt too long. Which I really don't care about. Peter Jackson is brilliant.

I honestly cannot watch that scene any more...but it was so awesomely shot...bleahhh. The sounds, the action, the textures, cgi...it was done awesomely. I bet he does a great job with these spiders.
