Your favourite movie, or movies, from each year; starting at 2000, give me as much as you'd like. I would ask you to refrain from picking any of the 'Harry Potter' movies, from whatever year they were released. You will no doubt notice how all of these films are about the biggest of the year, besides 'Harry Potter' which, again, isn't to be included. Feel free to pick from the 2012 films, if you already know of your favourite. Also, from of all the films you pick, I'd like to hear of your ultimate favourite, along with a second and third favourite for each year.

as you can see Ive changed my thoughts from this list I made a while back:
2000 - Requiem for a Dream 2001 - Amélie 2002 - Minority Report 2003 - The Lord of the Rings: Return of the King 2004 - The Incredibles 2005 - Batman Begins 2006 - Pan's Labyrinth 2007 - [REC] 2008 - The Dark Knight 2009 - The Secret in their Eyes 2010 - Black Swan 2011 - Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 2012 - The Dark Knight Rises

2000 - Gladiator (again) - It defines that year for me. Loved it so much I watched it twice in one day and then hired The Insider just because it was another Russell-Ridley teamup. 2001 - A Beautiful Mind - Stupefyingly fictionalised version of Frank Nash's life but taken as a film on its own merits, really breathtaking. Rusty deserved another Oscar but when you beat on the director of the Golden Globes, hey, you make your own bed. :) 2002 - 28 Days Later. FINALLY! A zombie movie with brains. (Yep, went there. Had to, had to go there.) 2003 - Kill Bill Vol.1. Remains my favourite Tarantino effort - never before or since has he nailed genre so perfectly and so beautifully. 2004 - Too many! In begrudging order: Hellboy, Garden State, Shaun of the Dead, Friday Night Lights. 2005 - A History of Violence: near-perfect genre filmmaking. Cornenberg at his non-body horror best. 2006 - Children of Men just edges out Pan's Labyrinth, and for non-speculative, it has to be Tommy Lee Jones's stunning The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada. And for documentary: the chilling Deliver Us From Evil. 2007 - Gone Baby Gone, with Boy A an oh-so-close second. Thoughtful, brilliantly-made, provocative and insightful films both. And who the hell knew Ben Affleck was so damn good behind the camera? 2008 - Such a great year for cinema. For me, The Wrestler, then Milk, then the Dark Knight. But they're all so close. Honourable mention to Aussie flick The Square. Perfect neo-noir. 2009 - Another really tough call: I'll say District 9, then Drag Me To Hell 2010 - Gut-busting terrorist comedy Four Lions comes a close second to Best Western Ever, True Grit. 2011 - The Guard (where did this perfect little movie come from? Ireland, of course). Contagion for drama 2012 - So far, The Grey's up there. Also, The Avengers was everything I wanted it to be right up to the end. But the best for me this year so far: Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows. Everything I'd wished the first Sherlock would be and more. Steampunk's back, and triumphant.
Out of these, all-time favourite still goes to Gladiator. It was a wonderful time in my life and a fantastic film to accompany that time.
