A vote for Romney is a vote towards bettering the lives of rich, white American men. If you actually care about the welfare of our country's citizens (which, ironically, whites are not in the majority anymore)--a.k.a. if you believe in equal rights for other races, for gays/lesbians, and for WOMEN (for god's sake) then you will vote for Obama this year.
It honestly doesn't even matter whether you like Obama as a person, because a vote for Romney is literally a vote to undo the hard work that our presidents have achieved over the past 50 years. Of course, if you like living in 1950s America where women are treated unfairly and gays fall victim to hate crimes--well, go ahead. And it's all driven on Romney's--and a lot of the Republicans'--strong Christian faith, which should NOT interfere with office. We came up with a separation between Church and State for a REASON, people. Being Christian is totally fine, but there are other faiths, other races, other beliefs in America, and religion shouldn't have anything to do with politics.
Not to mention the fact that Romney is just an unlikable guy in general, and has been known to flip flop around decisions to try and keep the public happy rather than hold his grounds on specific subjects (and this is in addition to the fact that he pays 13% annual tax, while the average American pays around 30%.)
And for FUCK'S SAKE--let a woman have the right to choose what to do with her body, be it abortion or not. But...wait...I guess if it's a "legitimate rape," she won't even need one, will she? 8-|
Im definitely not voting Romney, I'm just wondering if anybody here swings Obama or makes some kind of political statement by voting for Ron Paul or if anybody just thinks it's all a bunch of BS and votes for Elvis... Just wondering really lol
"If you make yourself more than just a man... If you devote yourself to an ideal... You become something else entirely- A Legend."
Beliefs mean nothing to them Aaron, I'm looking for economical, factual reasons... I know where they stand on beliefs and nothing will change either way with either...
I want to know, as a college going Science major is voting for Obama a smart and logical decision?

Yes.
Ok lol why?
I want to be able to defend it but I have no facts to work with... Has he signed any kind of bill stopping interest rates on student loans? Anything I can throw at people when they start riding me?
"If you make yourself more than just a man... If you devote yourself to an ideal... You become something else entirely- A Legend."
If you watch these you will see how I feel about Mitt Romney...
If he is elected this November...you have no idea how absolutely stupid this country is then. Obama hasnt been the best President, but with a congress full of absolute morons, hes been blockaded constantly. Nobody in the House or Senate care about anyone in this country...they wont even fix the tax cuts due to expire at the December...if that isn't renewed they are already predicting a new recession and that not only affects this country but all other countries. Look at the economic collapse from years ago and how it affected the world...
Its depressing. It would be easier to say, "yep lets restart the world and see how it can go a second time around."
I was hoping Paul vs Obama for the intense debates. This will just be Obama sweeping. If Ron Paul can make Romney look like a dumbass in a room of right wing nut jobs, imagine what will happen when left wing but jobs are in :p
Well when Romney says he wants to cut wind power and renewable sources funding, you know he ain't exactly Bill Nye.
EXACTLY!!!
Romney and Ryan both are touting this stance on "restoring nuclear energy"...yes because that has gotten humanity far...
and of course these incidents as well created with the birth of this technology...
Any politician. Any whatsoever that pushes for Nuclear Energy is an absolute idiot and should loose their position of power for even suggesting such. In my opinion it is one of the most absolute detrimental sources of power this world has ever seen. It has harmed so many innocent lives through the creation of the technology, and then with accidents in recent years at Three Mile Island, the infamous Chernobyl, and most recently in Japan after the Tsunami.
Do these people ever learn from humanity's mistakes?! Do they ever fathom what this could ever do if something wrong happens? Do they ever consider the consequences? No. They just think, "Oh golly gee, this is a quick fix for lots of people in order to keep getting voted into office." They never look into the repercussions. Paul Ryan is a dangerous running mate for Romney to have chose. He is incredibly vocal about creating more of these power plants, and also on Abortion.
I find it so fascinating that old white christian males are so focused on choosing what a woman should do with their body. They would never know what it is like to be in a position like that to decide about what to do. Now I am definitely not for aborting any baby a careless mother may so choose, however with Rape and Incest come on...this is not rocket science.
I just do not even understand where these two idiots come from on the Republican ticket. Usually I can be incredibly understanding and try and view things from both sides of the coin but in this election like I stated before, Obama may not have done everything he could have for the country in the past four years but I would rather have four more years of him rather than Mitt Romney. Electing Mitt Romney is taking America backwards into a new progressive age. The way the bogus Republican Party programs the minds of their members to be these talking puppets have never stopped to amaze me. Both sides of the political system has this though, but anymore Republicans keep going backwards into what America used to be just to please the Baby Boomers and generations before. I'm sorry but that isn't America anymore. We dont need this rhetoric of the past being influxed again in 2012.
Why can't politicians ever consider anyone but themselves? Its an issue thats always perplexed me...however I guarantee if you check where all the money is going to these people we all elect then you know exactly how and why these people vote, talk, and propose the ideals of which they tout.
I just don't understand why the fuck Romney didn't pick Ron Paul. It would've made people think he can have moderate ties and get all those swinging moderates and liberals angry at Obama to think "oh Romney chose Paul because he has a sense for the constitution and wants an experienced runnin mate blahblah" instead MR FUCKING INSANE MOST RIGHT WING FUCKER EVER!!!!!
This thread just gave me a brilliant idea for one of the first paintings of the semester...time to get to printing homemade monopoly money, corporate logos of companies Romney destroyed through Bain Capitol, and the creation of a Monopoly Man Romney Stencil...Will have results in a few days...
I can't vote, but if I could I would vote for Obama. If Romney gets elected, there is the possibility that the Deferred Action program might get revoked. If you guys didn't know, it allows undocumented college students to work in the US legally and we can renew this after two years. With this we can also apply to get a SSN legally as well. Not only me, but many will be affected by the fact that if it indeed gets revoked, then the government will now have proof of our undocumented status which can lead to deportation. If anyone wants to hate for me being "undocumented" do it on inbox please. I don't wanna ruin this thread. This is not the only reason I would vote for Obama but, its the major one.
Guys. I'm really worried. I've seen some projections and... Have you heard the box office news about that documentary 2016: Obama's America? It did great in the box office this weekend. Damn.
@AllStar87... Am I lying? We have stereotypes all around the world. Brazilians are seen as sexualized people, British as emotionless, Africa as black people, part of Asia as muslims. There are stereotypes everywhere around the world. And you know that Americans are seen as arrogant by a lot of people. Besides, one of the most watched comedy videos in YouTube is "Americans are not Stupid". That says a lot.
For me, Republicans represent the worst of the American people: conservatism, racism, excessive patriotism, xenophobia, religion. They support War, are against so many rights of the human being. And honestly? I'm still surprised that after all what happened with a republican in the power (9/11, and others), people still vote for them.
I am not hating here. It is my opinion. If the Era Bush represented something to you, you should never vote for Romney. And, as I said, if Romney is elected, it will be a huge step back for the American people. And you can be sure: that will not be seen as a good thing for people around the world.
I don't think Rick is hating at all, but maybe you haven't seen first hand what people outside the US think about the country. Just like Rick, I've seen it. It has gotten a bit better since Obama but a lot of Hispanics still think of the US as pretentious, arrogants and selfish. My mom still thinks like that too, and I don't quite blame her.

You get it, and you don't even live here. Love this.
It is not true that people stop pursuing dreams because they grow old, they grow old because they stop pursuing dreams.
It's not about democrats vs republicans, there are perfectly fine republicans who are ACTUAL republicans, which means less government. Then you have nutjobs who say this but just have greedy coorperations in their back pockets.
If coorperations and businesses weren't all greedy fucks, republican ideas of economics would work a lot better, but because of that, it'll never work.

Yep. Sometimes the Government needs to back off, sometimes not. Socialism would be ideal for a country if we weren't in debt. All the same I'm going to college on Gov money so I'm obligated to the party that will benefit me most, the democrats.

I want to be able to defend it but I have no facts to work with... Has he signed any kind of bill stopping interest rates on student loans? Anything I can throw at people when they start riding me?
Paul Ryan, Romney's running mate wants to privatize pell grants (along with medicade & medicare). I was awarded a pell grant, and without it, I would be HAVE to take out loans, and I do not want to be in debt for the rest of my life. If Ryan's plan were to go through, 1 million fewer students would be awarded the grant. Additionally, he is for beginning the interest rate on student loans as soon as they accept the loan; therefore, we would be racking up debt before we get the chance to get out there with the job we want to make the money. If I continued beyond my B.A. I would have 6-8 years of schooling in which my interest was building up. The point of a student loan is so there is no interest right away.... He also wants to eliminate social security and replace it with ineffective vouchers. Because the government has already spent the money WE PAY on social security, I highly doubt we would get reimbursed. The former blue-collered and currently retired are already living with limited money to get by, imagine it with Ryan's plan?
