I think this guy's music is what made New Moon better than Twilight. Otherwise the movie was just the same old, crappy stuff with new FX. But Desplat's emotional score is perfect for DH. I think he can make an amazing Hedwig's theme. His piano influences in all the themes will be perfect for the emotional parts.
Ah, okay.
I like that they've made the theme sound different each time, so I'm looking forward to what Desplat is going to do with it. As long as it's recognizable *lol*. The theme is my absolutely favorite piece out of all the music for the Potter films. I hope he doesn't disappoint. I'm not really familiar with any of his work, so I guess I should check out some of his stuff.
I liked Hooper on OOTP. Most of the tracks I like. I really liked 'Loved Ones and Leaving', and would love to hear that in DH somewhere in someway. I don't know where though. I think it would fit more with the epilogue or something. I don't know.
Listen to the last 2:00 minutes of the "reunion of friends" track of COS. Wen I hear it I feel like it belongs in the epilogue,it's just amazing! That would fit perfectly with the epilogue!!!

It definitely has an 'epic' feel to it, especially during the last 30 seconds of the song. I think it could work, because it's a decade of story telling coming to an end. It gives it a feeling of 'complete'. Does that make sense?
I think Alexandre Desplat is making the right choice. It will really tie up the series to have John Williams themes in it. I just hope he doesn't overuse them or make them sound exactly like in the first movie, because otherwise the movie would feel sorcerer's stone-ish and that would be a bad thing...
