Harry Potter and the Chamber Of Secrets-I think its dumb who would not notice!!

Harry, Ron and Gilderoy Lockart goes into Moaning Myrtle's bathroom. Then Harry spots the opening to the chamber, on the head of the pipe a crest with the symbol of twined snakes(white crest, gray snakes) Professor McGonall said that the greatest witches and wizards searched the school but didn't find anything!! How could you miss it! Sure, you wouldn't know how to open it but STILL two serpents! Obviously, it has something to do with Salazar Sytherin.

Not to mention that the tap has never worked.... I mean, you'd think they would have had it checked!

    1) You couldn't find out why the tap never work. It could happen.

    2) There is a detail: You need to know parseltongue to open the COS. :-? . You don“t solve anything if you find out that the tap does not work.

Believe me, there's lots more plot holes in COS.

Still better than Goblet of Fire

I don't think there is a single conceivable way to say that the CoS novel is better than Goblet.

Upon lining up the COS and GOF films, I think it is safe to say that while COS triumphs in a few aspects (i.e. screenplay), GOF ultimately remains more enjoyable. I find the Harry vs the Basilisk scene better than the Harry vs the Horntail scene though. Goblet is just plain fun though, whereas COS has a bit more of a political and mysterious backbone. Both are great thrillers.

Is this thread not about the book? I remember the same thing happening in the book.

It looked like an ordinary sink. They examined every inch of it, inside and out, including the pipes below. And then Harry saw it: Scratched on the side of one of the copper taps was a tiny snake. (CoS, pg 300)

My guess is that when the castle was searched years ago for the Chamber of Secrets the sink was viewed at a distance and just seen as an ordinary sink, like the narrative says.

Maybe McGonnagal just said that because she was bored of this "legend" and didn't want the students to look after it.

As much shit as Goblet (the film) gets, it's way fucking better than Chamber IMO.

    Quite. Chamber has soporific qualities.

I enjoy watching CoS, but it's at the bottom of my list as far as HP films go.

I really just find it hard making lists because it all depends on the mood I'm in. I tend to watch the later films the most, but the earlier films are enjoyable too. I mean I hardly ever find myself watching Chamber, so when I do it is fresh and fantastic.

Unlike most of the people on here, I still love Chamber and I always will. I liked it even though as most complain "Wah its boring!" "Wah the plot sucks!" "Wah this, Wah That!" Idgaf. I still love Chamber even if its my second to Last Potter flick on my favorites list. Picking favorites in the series to me is like picking favorite children...I just can't do it haha. In all honesty its not that bad of a movie. In the film they had to expand a bit and show a full textured sculpted snake on the sink for the viewers to see. In the book it says that it is scratched onto the sink. There are two differences. One works better for the viewers and the other makes sense with the plot and people searching the school. Like anyones really gonna feel up a sink and look for an entrance to the COS in a bathroom of all places lol.
