A Dangerous Method(David Cronenberg, 2011) Based on the play "The Talking Cure", by Christopher Hampton, there's something, indeed, really theatrical about A Dangerous Method. Starting with the powerful and a lotexpressive performances, where the body language is important to develop the characters. Keira Knightley is the kind of actress that can delivers great performances if directed by competent directors. She has been criticized for being over the top, but I'm glad she is trying tough parts and I would say that she achieves the theatrical vibe of the movie. Michael Fassbender, once again, proves that he has become a great actor in another flawless performance. The mise-en-scène also stays very close and has this "play" feeling; the same can be said for the text, which is really sophisticated. But, for staying kinda close of this language, the dynamic of the movie is totally harmed, where the editing seems kinda lost to portray chronological ellipsis. By that, while the dramatic curve is there, it feels kinda cold and flat, which is funny, considering that's a movie directed by Cronenberg. Although, the powerful performances and the sophisticated discussions and dialogues make A Dangerous Method worth watching. It's a small Cronenberg, but it is still a Cronenberg.
A thrilling and intense, VERY convincing portrayal of the situation it presents. After a heart-pounding opening, it sags for a little while, but once the epidemic is out and about, it's absolutely thrilling. Great film!
The Hunger Games - 10/10 Wow. Just Wow...If only the Potter films could have been this spectacular...Iv'e jumped on the bandwagon it is glorious! Wonderful execution, tremendous acting. Time to start collecting...
Wow Idk its my favorite movie of all time now man...its just wowowow :D I saw it with Jilldo for the afternoon matinee :D time to read the next 2 books! I'll post as soon as I get home :)
The Hunger Games - 10/10 Wow. Just Wow...If only the Potter films could have been this spectacular...Iv'e jumped on the bandwagon it is glorious! Wonderful execution, tremendous acting. Time to start collecting...
It wasn't as bad as I anticipated, but I don't get the overt hype. From what I know about cinematography, the film didn't have good cinematography. Also, the Chariot scene effects weren't very good. However, it was an excellent adaption and I thought that, despite being a little sickening, the shaky-cam was used right. Jennifer Lawrence was fantastic, as was most of the cast (if not all).
6.5/10 I guess you can round.
It is not true that people stop pursuing dreams because they grow old, they grow old because they stop pursuing dreams.

I watched it a few weeks ago, but watching it again this morning, I feel the need to express my awe. The final episode of Sherlock, series two, The Reichenbach Fall. Honestly, this is the best episode yet. Just...all of my emotions.
The final scenes, Cumberbatch and Freeman absolutely shine. Truly spectacular heartwrenching performances. Also, the way Andrew Scott plays Jim Moriarty is beyond amazing. In The Great Game and the beginning of A Scandal in Belgravia, he gets across his loony status, but in this episode, he totally cements what a magnificent actor he is, to the point where he is genuinely terrifying. Also, Kate Parkinson. I've only ever seen her in The IT Crowd. The thing is, in this, her acting is kinda similar. But because The IT Crowd is a comedy, in Sherlock, it's serious business. She actually appears slightly crazy.
So many thoughts about how amazing this episode was, I can barely think of what to say next. Amazing show, amazing episode. I can only wonder what will happen in the next series. I can't work the spoiler thing, so SPOILERS!!!!
Did Moriarty kill himself, or did he fake his death too? He's been behind absolutely everything in the past two series, and a third has been confirmed, so...I'm thinking he must still be alive somehow? Wild mass guessing can ensue.
I know a lot critics felt it was pretentious, but Rotten Tomatoes has it right: Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close has a story worth telling. The acting was superb (Wow, Sandra Bullock and Max von Sydow :O ) The score is powerful as well (Another score for Desplat). And the emotional sequences were extremely impacting (Some might argue overly, but whatever :( ) I think Thomas Horn was a bright future too. :)
P.S - Despite Oscar's story not being technically true, I'm sure there are stories of hope found at 'the worst day'. Osama, rot. :P

The Hunger Games - (Real Non-April Fools Review) - 7/10
After thoroughly enjoying the book, the emotions, the characters and the plot, I was excited for the movie but wanted to wait for the hype to die down before I seen it. I found the character development in the movie very well done, Jennifer Lawrence was great as Katniss. Peeta, Haymitch, Snow, Seneca, Cato, Rue, etc were very well done. I felt one thing lacking in the film though and that was more raw emotion. In the book I felt more raw and broken emotions and in the film I didn't see any scenes that fulfilled that until after Rue had passed and Katniss lost it. I felt they handled the gore well, and didn't make it gross. My personal favorite parts were whenever the capitol was shown. I thought they conveyed the way the capitol had control on all the people, and I liked the rioting. I was surprised by that. I didn't feel the film was bad by any means, but I just felt something was lacking and I cannot put my finger on it quite yet. I am going to think it over and add to this review as my opinion progresses in the next day. Also, before anyone says I am disliking this movie because I dislike the Hunger Games that is already invalid. I liked the book a lot, and by no means is my dislike for some of the Hunger fandom altering my review. I just had a feeling I would get someone trying to call me out for something you will not find as a factor in this.
Bottom Line: A Nice Adaptation, However it did not fulfill the hype in my eyes.
but that is just the thing, I liked it, I didn't love it. lol. the more I think about it, I would give it a 6.5/7. HPF no longer allows people to edit posts apparently lol The only scene I genuinely loved was the ending montage with the music, which was one of my favorite scored moments in the movie Hanna.
Wrath of the Titans(Jonathan Liebesman, 2012) It's curious when a studio decide to produce a sequel of a bad movie. It's basically a second chance to do it right, avoiding and trying to correct the flaws of the first one. I'm not surprised to say that Wrath of the Titans is basically a copy+paste of the first one, with the same cheesy and terrible script, same overlong and boring action sequences and the same inexpressive and nothing charismatic performance from Sam Worthington. It's a waste, once again, to see so many great actors in the supporting cast, though. Passable and forgettable.
Titanic 3D(James Cameron, 1997) 3d or not 3D, Titanic is, and will always be, one of the most complete cinematic experience in history. And I couldn't be happier to having the opportunity to watch it on the big screen.
Thor - 5/10. I came into this film expecting so much, and was so disappointed. It was dull, uninspired mediocrity. The only thing that saved it was the performance by Hemsworth. Loki makes a laughable villain and the visual effects were a disaster. The score was dull as well. Definitely not as well done as Iron Man, but par with Iron Man 2. Next I'll check out Captain America and then I'll be ready for The Avengers. :)
American Reunion- 3/5 The movie was good, and even though it's nice to see the original cast again, this is not the best of the franchise. The humor is very American Pie-ish, but some of it is just too over the top and some times not funny at all.
