I'm done with Harry Potter because it's a harmful influnce to witchcraft. I'm a total christain, and I stuck to that. Thanks everyone for a good time on this website, but God and heaven is more important to me then Harry Potter.

... the sin of witchcraft... 1st Samuel 15:23
HAVE YOU EVER BEEN SAVED?
Is there a time and place in your life, when you trusted in the blood of Jesus Christ? Not joined a church, not kept the sacraments, not baptism, not good works but simply, by faith, prayed and asked Jesus Christ to save you?
To die without Jesus Christ will be the worst thing you could ever do...
"And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the LAKE OF FIRE." Revelation 20:15
YOU CAN BE SAVED THIS VERY MINUTE!
It's simple to be saved...
Know you're a sinner.
"As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:" Romans 3:10
"... for there is no difference. For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;" Romans 3:23
Believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross to pay for your sins.
"Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, ..." 1 Peter 2:24
"... Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood," Revelation 1:5
And the best way you know how, simply trust Him, and Him alone as your personal Savior.
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." John 3:16
"For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." Romans 10:13
WOULD YOU LIKE TO BE SAVED?
Pray this prayer, and mean it with all your heart.
Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner, and unless you save me I am lost forever. I thank you for dying for me at Calvary. I come to you now, Lord the the best way I know how, and ask you to save me. I now receive you as my Savior.
In Jesus Christ Name, Amen.

This IS a joke, right? Otherwise...any respect for you I had has just gone.
ha ha..........
god/ jesus/ whoever doesnt exist!
Two i'm not kidding. Harry Potter are just books, and movies of witchcraft. I'm a christain, and the Bible says it is wrong. So i'm sticking to the Bible because I know in the future I want to go to heaven. God has done so much for everyone, and I feel quiting Harry Potter is the least I can do. And plus their are other stuff then Harry Potter like Indiana Jones, Transformers, and Twilight.
Almost everything about Harry Potter is said to be bad in the Bible.
Well you cant be that much of a good christian or you woldn't have read them in the first place if you were that bothered by it
the bibles a piece of shit, go on then whats god done for people
and if god does has done "so much for everyone" why do people get murdered? why are there bad people?
cant answer that can you?
you're a joke!
sorry to burst your bubble but god isnt real, sounds like you dont have a clue what your talking about!
and at what point did you actually realise it was about Magic genius?
lmaooooo
And GriffindorsFinest! shut it. I knew it was about magic, just I didn't how much of it was against tht Bible.

You said that magic goes against everything in christianity, so you should haveread the books in the first place. Even though I am sure there's nothing about Harry Potter in there...I'll have to check though.
I'm not taking the piss ou of your beliefs, if you found faith after you had read the books then that's fine, each to thewir own. But you've made a tit out of yourself lad.
I don't care that you believe in God, fine. I personally don't. But how can you POSSIBLY believe some greater being loves you, when he would supposedly throw you into hell for reading a F.I.C.T.I.O.N.A.L. book about people who, yes, use magic, but use it to stop evil and to stop people from ruling over others like they are God.
Harry Potter is just a story of good vs evil.
YES, the bible says don't use magic. But that's just so they don't try and assume God's position as an all mighty being. No good character is using magic to become all powerful. In fact, those in the book that DO try to use magic to become all-powerful are the evil ones.
And why do you read the Bible? Honestly? Yeah, to you, it may be the word of God. APPARENTLY. The fact remains that it was written by man. Humans, corrupt, liars, controlling, wanting power, wanting you to follow them unquestioning.
Follow GOD. Follow what you believe is right! Follow YOUR faith. Don't follow someone elses! That automatically means your faith is in THEM, and what they have to say, and not in God.
If you were any sort of good Christian, you would trust what you feel is right. What you truly think is the right thing to do. God is in the MIND. That's not me saying he doesn't exist, that's me saying, unless someone has claimed to have been directly contacted by God and directly (somehow) actually met him, God is just something you think about. Follow what your head says, and you are following God. Follow the Bible, and you follow some random guy probably named Bob who sat in a dark room and pondered how he could fool a lot of people.
You obviously didn't think Harry Potter was bad before. But now, cause somebody's written it down in the bible, you think it's the devil. Really? I mean REALLY? You're trusting a book? Over God? I think you're God would be ashamed of that.
That book also says you'll go to hell if you eat shellfish. And incest is not frowned upon in the way adultery is. SERIOUSLY?
Please...I just think you should follow something you have always believed in. Not something you read one day which all of a sudden drastically changed you're opinion.
Even if you were to go on saying you hate Harry Potter cause it's evil, JUST BECAUSE you're saying it doesn't make it true. You've liked Harry Potter all this time. You're opinion won't suddenly change in a day from "I love it" to "I despise it". NOBODY'S opinion changes just like that. To say you hate Harry Potter is a farce, and don't you think your God would realise you're not meaning what you say?
Honestly...you have two choices really.
1. Trust and put your faith in a God you've READ about who apparently loves everyone, yet would send a baby who dies of natural causes to hell even though they hadn't yet learnt to talk and so could not apologise for Original Sin, who loves everyone yet there are incredible amounts of suffering in the world, who loves everyone, but would send someone to hell for watching something or reading something.
or
2. Trust and put your faith in a God who you believe loves everyone. Full stop. Love, true love, is unconditional. If you believe the Bible, God's love is anything BUT unconditional.
But she did use myths, correct. And what are myths? They're myths. SO ALSO FICTIONAL.
She studied Classical Civilisation in university. A HUGE part of studying Classical Civilisation, I know this cause I have studied it myself, is learning about the beliefs of ancient cultures, stories, myths, legends, their customs the lot. There is a large focus on their uses of FICTION.
And the most she did? She took some names from mythological characters.
Tell me, how is fiction against God? How is fiction, inspired by fiction, enough to make you feel so...stupidly. I'm sorry, there's no other word for it. You're being an idiot. A complete idiot.
If fiction is enough to piss off a God and make him angry and is gonna hurt him, then that God was weak in the first place. And therefore not the God you believe in, so WHY THE HELL do you believe liking fiction is going to displease your God? You're thinking low of him, I must say. If anything, THAT'S what would piss him off.
So what was the programme? Some sort of fanatical religious propaganda, I reckon, from how it's made you think.
I cant believe youre giving up somethng you enjoy because the bible said so
i can tell you now, fact god doesnt exist
you're making a complete idiot of yourself, it's like you've been brainwashed
Exactly.
I will never become evil. So don't say things like that. I'm a really good person if you got to know me you would say the same thing. I love reading and watching Harry Potter, but i'm scared it's bad. So you can call me a coward, but not evil. I just want to be a good christain. I'm sorry if you all hate me, but i've just been through alot, and I want to prove to God that i'm a good person, and a good christain.
So your gonna live your life by what a book tells you?

I just don't like it's fully based on witchcraft. I've always thought it was stuff J.K. Rowling made up, but she actually used witch books to write Harry Potter.
And yes i'm going to live by a book. I've already said i'm not going to have sex till i'm married along time ago, even if I'm really in love.
When one person suffers from a delusion it is called insanity. When many people suffer from a delusion it is called religion.

Why don't you believe in God or religion?
Well first of all wheres the proof? All youve got to rely on is a book, thats it
And secondly i'll admit i've prayed before many moons ago, and has "god" every helped me? has he fuck, so he doesn't look over everyone does he....NO!

You don't need proof to believe in something.
Have you ever heard the song Unanswered Prayer By Garth Brookes? God can't always help you with your prayers because you need to overcome some challenges on your own, but he does offer guidiance. Your put on earth to basically prove yourself to God before going to his kingdom.
I believe in God because I know someone is watching out for me, and I know he loves me. Everything about God is awesome, and the bible does explain why things happen.
I didn't say it was stupid. I made this thread, to tell everyone good bye because I've met some great people.
Personally i think it's all a load of shit
Doesn't god forgive all sins? why don't you just carry on enjoying the harry potter books/ this website and ask him for his forgiveness, there problem solved
That's an idea, and yes God does forgive all sins as long as you have him in your heart.
Like wilbo said in another post you shouldn't have to give up something you love/ like/ interested in, would god want that!?
if you dont mind me askin how old are you?
Listen and listen carefully: No matter what that programme told you, Jo Rowling did NOT use any sort of "witch book". That is utter tripe. She used her knowledge of classics and ancient cultures for the odd name or two, and used latin for the name of some spells, but there is no "actual" witchcraft present.
Seriously, these books are not bad. How can books that have taught millions of kids to enjoy reading be bad? How can books that have given people across the world joy and cause no harm to the world be bad? Because some programme said she used a witch book?
She didn't.
I'm 16 almost 17. People say I look like Dan from Half-Blood Prince, some say I look like Robert from Twilight.

You made me smile.
how long u been reading the books for?
I've read the books for 6 years, and watched the movies for 8. I saw Sorcerer's Stone in theaters.
Essentially yes. I mean, like I said, she used some names and stuff from myths of ancient cultures, and she takes influence, obviously, from other stories she has read. But it all came out of her head, whilst sat on a train, and in a cafe, writing on the back of napkins. The idea of Harry Potter started when she was sat on a train. Just like the Hogwarts Express. THAT'S where it came from.
She hasn't picked up a book about witchcraft and taken stuff out of it.
Aaahh :)
I dont think you should stop reading them or stop watching the films...
That makes all the difference. Thank you for telling me.

I probably won't.
