Got my Pottermore account back at the beginning and then moved to Japan. Finally have consistent internet and am up and running! I need dueling practice if y'all want to add me: CastleSpell172 :)
Hey guys, I've noticed all these random Pottermore threads I decided to make one where all can post whatever they want about Pottermore. Please use this thread for any Pottermore discussions. Thanks!
NOTE: If you have a Yahoo email and are trying to register this week, the Official Pottermore website said that their is a delay with Yahoo, so stay calm and you will get your email eventually.
Getting tired of waiting for Pottermore. Everytime there is a new appearance to the splash screen, I think it might be up for all, guess not. GRRRRrrrrr...
Why? It is a failure. They didn't even prepare for the onslaught of traffic as beta invites went out! They were not ready by their target of October, which anyone sensible would have known given how large the fandom is. It's now February, four months past its supposed opening.
It's not every engaging. The only interesting thing about it is the new information we gleam from going through the boring chapters of the worst books in the series. This is not a great thing. It is just another way for Rowling to rake in more money so she can go on Oprah again and laugh about how rich the two of them are.

So Crucify the ego, before it's far too late, to leave behind this place so negative and blind and cynical. And you will come to find that we are all one mind, capable of all that's imagined and all conceivable.
Pottermore will be opening to everyone on April 2012.
According to the Pottermore Insider Blog announcement, which was just released:
"We know that the extended wait for those wishing to be part of Pottermore has been frustrating, and we’d like to thank you all for your patience so far.
Many of you are interested to know why we extended the original opening date beyond October of last year.
We always knew Pottermore would be incredibly popular, which is why we made the decision to only open to one million Beta users to begin with. We wanted to make sure that we had a really good understanding of how people want to use the site and which bits we’d need to modify before giving more people access.
We gathered some incredibly useful feedback from our Beta users, and it became clear that our original platform wouldn’t be suitable when millions more users came on to the site. So we made a big decision: to move Pottermore to an entirely different platform set up. This ‘invisible’ change has involved a lot of work behind the scenes but it will enable our users to get the best from Pottermore as it grows and develops.
There have definitely been some challenges and the whole Pottermore team has been working really hard to incorporate all the Beta activity and feedback. This means that over the coming weeks and months we’ll be adding exclusive content and many more exciting features (such as sounds) to Pottermore for you to explore, share and discover. So get ready to join the Pottermore journey – the wait is nearly over."
I wasn't expecting it THIS soon :O , specially when that news came out recently that Pottermore won't open in near future. It sure is a pleasant surprise. :D Lets hope for a smooth sailing this time round.
And there will also be new content. Maybe new background information that JK didn't release in the beta period to keep it exciting for the beta users?
The new content will be like extras and stuff and enhancements madde to the site..sounds have been confirmed as one of the new features!!!!! So happy that was like the biggest complain I had about the site and we finally get it!! They have listened to our complains that means A LOT and we can expect BIG changes for the site!! Can't wait! :D
Despite that long wait I'm quite excited now after they've said that. I really hope the sounds are good. Really looking forward to the rest of the books too.
Has there been any word on when the store will be open? I'd like to grab the audiobooks if they aren't clones of the iTunes rips and aren't obscene in price.
