What amazes me still is that Gone With the Wind still holds the record for highest-grossing film of all time inflated. Over $1 billion domestically. It's astounding how many people went to see it back in 1939.

Don't tell me about it, man. And what is really impressive is that, by that time, Movie Theaters were really popular places and the tickets were really cheap. If I'm not wrong, a movie session cost somewhere between U$0,10 and $0,30!

Marvel's The Avengers Hits 3D Blu-ray and DVD September 25th

The 4-disc Blu-ray/DVD combo pack comes loaded with an audio commentary from director Joss Whedon, a ton of deleted scenes including an alternate ending and a scene with Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) reuniting with an Old Betty, a featurette, and a new Marvel One-Shot short film titled Item 47, which may give us just a tiny bit more of Clark Gregg as Agent Coulson.

According to the good folks at Collider, a mega-huge 10-disc set is also being planned for the near future.

Saw The Avengers today, and it was kick ass! A lot of epic action scenes and some funny dialogue that had been bursting with laughter. It's a tough act to follow, so I say good luck to The Dark Knight Rises and The Amazing Spider-Man, they're gonna need it.

I mean sure if you don't care about things like storytelling and character development and believe that eye candy is all that's needed you're absolutely correct! Then again most shots I saw in the TDKR and ASM trailers gave me more cinematography eye candy, but I digress. Avengers was like having a chocolate milkshake instead of a full-course meal.

Imma have to agree with bane. I loved the Avengers, I did.
But we are talking about Nolan For god´s sake. I´ve seen TDKR trailer. I can easily say is the avengers who should start shaking right now. The Nolan batman series (specially TDK) is mindfucking

Quality wise. I say this from what footage I've seen so far, but both Webb and Nolan's past efforts also have me convinced. Webb is going to create a Spider-Man to rival Raimi's, one that will have immense meaning and purpose behind it. Now I hadn't seen Joss Whedon's previous films, and Avengers looked great but lacked a lot of soul.

I never mentioned the story/character development in my post, that's not what I was talking about. Of course Batman and Spidey will beat The Avengers in that regard, it's a popcorn flick at best, but a seriously good one.

Neither did The Dark Knight, but people still loved it, loll. Of course I definitely believe TDKR will fix any misfires for the TDK in terms of character.

It might have not have a really character development, but it had an amazing character analysis, specially the joker, wich was soo unique IMO. And also, the social aproach, the morals, TDK has so much depth, and it´s all because of nolans vision, mainly.
But hey, Thats my opinion in the end :P

Smart people don't even think about box office when talking about ANYTHING unless it's directly related to box office. Going by box office logic, every Call of Duty game is the best game of the year and only a fucking moron would agree with that.

IMO, TDK was only good because of The Joker, without him the movie would have been nothing, TDK was more about the Joker and Harvey Dent than Batman. Bruce Wayne seemed the same to me from BB, no character growth what so ever. I hope TDKR redeems TDK and is as entertaining as The Avengers.
