As long as it wasn't including the deleted scenes, i'd be up for that. Unfortunately, we'll probably never actually receive the massive backlog of cut footage.
I am deathly in love with the fact that the Red Epic is being used, because it is far more efficient than using regular old film.

So Crucify the ego, before it's far too late, to leave behind this place so negative and blind and cynical. And you will come to find that we are all one mind, capable of all that's imagined and all conceivable.
I have been highly critical of the people who assume this will jump right back into the same success as the original trilogy did but after catching up on all the news I can officially say I'm a new convert. I've recently watched the original trilogy for the 3rd time and I'm reading the books as well. Hard to believe The Dark Knight Rises actually won't win any box awards in 2012 other than highest OW lol
"If you make yourself more than just a man... If you devote yourself to an ideal... You become something else entirely- A Legend."
Ugh, thinking it over I'd just rather have one Hobbit film – the story has a perfect three-arc structure – and, frankly, I'm doubting the material can cover two 2.5 hour films without feeling drawn out even the stuff they're adding could probably be done in like 15 minutes.
White Council, Radagast the Brown, attack on Dol Guldur. No, I don't think that could be done in 15 minutes.
Plus remember they have to flesh out many things for them to make sense to the audience. They have to expand upon Bard, because he's just a random guy in the book who suddenly shows up and kills Smaug. They need to show his private life, his conflict with the Master of Laketown etc.
Then there's the dwarven backstory, Thorin's backstory (how he got his name) and so on.
They only really need one council meeting (4-5 minutes tops), Radagast is unimportant and can be cut, Dol Guldur isn't a major battle with Sauron having already fled. The skirmish there need only be a few minutes and elaborating on the dwarves and Bard could all be done in one film.
Bret McKenzie is best known for being one part of "New Zealand's fourth most popular folk-rock act", Flight Of The Conchords.
Keen-eyed Lord Of The Rings fans might also know him for his potrayal of the elf Figwit, complete with long sleek black hair – and most worryingly, no beard. Speaking to Bret recently, we talked about his return to Middle Earth for The Hobbit and putting on his pointy ears once more.
"It was in Wellington so I could pretty much walk to work. It’s still a small part — I did a couple of days earlier this year — but it was great to get my pointy ears back on. It’s in 3D, so the ears will be extra pointy. You’ll be able to touch the ears."
In Lord Of The Rings, his character's name was Figwit, but it was never actually given in the films, but in The Hobbit, things are different.
"I’ve got a proper name this time: Lindir. In the book he was a musical elf. This time, if I make the edit, I'll speak in Elvish. But I don’t sing. They haven’t asked me to do the theme song yet! Maybe this time it’s me and Annie Lennox."
"Ian McKellen, it turns out, is a big fan of Flight Of The Conchords. He and I had a good time on set, coming up with ideas for Hobbit: The Musical. We’re still developing it... (laughs)"
Perhaps the most important question of all is... did you have to shave your beard off again?
"Oh yeah. I look like I’m 12. I look much more like a girl in The Hobbit. I look like a hot girl."
Well, we're sold. One hot girl, present. Excellent stuff.
:) I know you'll find some parts of the film boring, but the epic really outweighs the non-epic, and in fact those "boring" moments aren't even boring if you can register into the story enough. Truly phenomenal work. I knew getting you hooked to the score would be a great catalyst to get you to be excited about the films. Please launch all questions here or by PM or chat while you're watching, I'll be glad to help you make your way through the films. :D
They were all conducted, composed, and orchestrated together, similar as filming was helmed as one large production, and split during post-production. It is a masterful score--one of the best, if not the best film score ever conducted.

Oh, i know. But we tend to listen to them as separate entities.
