Are you sure it said 2:12? Maybe after those drinks you had it said 7:35 but you thought it was 2:12? That sounds more likely ;)

Well, out of HBP, PoA, and DH2 I think DH2 is the one I like the best. I didn't vote because I haven't listened to them very much though.

    1. Snape's Speech/Harry coming out and yelling at him/Snape vs. McGonagall - a perfect example of adaption, reestablishing Snape and Harry's hatred towards him for DH2.

    2. Opening SS with Dumbledore at Privet Drive rather than any of the stuff before that with Vernon

    3. Making the Posession scene in OotP the way it was in the movie.

    4. The general feel of the dementors. The way they flew and physically froze things like the water.

    5. The part in the Prince's Tale where Lily tells Harry he is loved

Honorable mention: Extended Voldemort vs. Harry

    1. Harry and Voldemort fight/ Cliff Dive
    2. GOF dragon challenge around the castle
    3. The "Look At Me" harry yells at Dumbledore in OOTP
    4. Snape's Death Scene Location
    5. Snape Speech in DH2 along with Harry confronting him

And Snape finding Lily and walking in Godrics Hollow

Agreed! It's not cheesy like musical numbers in...*cough* GOF *cough*

    Hmm, best change:

    1). Extended HArry vs. Voldemort
    2). Extending Buckbeak's Flight
    3). Making the Locket cooler.

Question: Should things that we know happened, or could have, in the book BTS but were shown in the film be changes? I mean, they are technically still canon, it's just that the films aren't limited to Harry's POV.

Oo, I think the hardest award we had...

So, my favourite change from book to movie is :
    -The Lupin and Tonks story

    Ok, this was a joke.
-1/ HERMIONE'S LOOK who was supposed not to look good according to J.K Rowling
-2/ Statue scene (it's actualy an added scene so I don't know if it counts as a change).
-3/ Snape's Great Hall speech, Hary's line "........despite your exaustive defensive strategies......" Order members arriving...
-4/ Dementors feeling (ice/very scary/the effect we get when he's "taking" someone's pleasure away...)
    -5/ Argh... I don't know... soo many good changes .... Ok I say :
Bridge destruction scene at the beginning of HBP. Great adaptation idea.

If n°2 doesn't count, then I say Harry/Voldemort extended fitght

Well Obliviate is a bit like Statue. It's more an add than a change so I don't know if it counts.

Statues is actually kinda a change because McGonagall brings the nights to life beforehand when Harry is there and the teachers put up protections then too.

What exactly are you asking whether it is a change or not?

Yes because scenes like Statues or Obliviate were halfly in the book. We didn't see Hermione leaving home, we didn't at all see Mcgonnagal calling the statues to wake up...

Here's what I think makes sense (using the CoS scene in DH2 as an example)

the CoS scene being in the movie would not be a change, but changing the kiss to be a part of the cos scene would be a change.

Well I think the CoS scene is a change because it was mentionedin the book and showed in the movie, like the bridge scene in HBP.

  • Prisoner of Azkaban - Breathtaking special effects and imagery.
Goblet of Fire - Underrated & has one of the best plots & characters. Also, return of Voldy.
Deathly Hallows Part 2 - It was mostly true to the book & just epic and emotional.

Euh, I think you didn't understand the game.

You have to give your favorite changes not your opinion on the movies.

I liked how they changed the Godric's Hollow scene. In the book Harry is under his invisibility cloak and he sees his old home. In the movie he has his cloak off, and he visits his parents grave with Hermione, now that scene had great emotion. I am not sure if I am supposed to pick more, but I will give 2 more. Obliviate (DH1), and Statues (DH2).
  • Yeah, try and get 5 if you can :)

Does anyone remember if Minerva awakening the statues was mentioned in the DH book?

In the book, Snape and Minerva duel in the corridor, then the teacher appears and Snape leaves. Then she tells the teachers to set up protections, they get to that, and she awakens the statues in the corridor. So it does happen, but at a different location at a different point in time.

Well in the book it was more a kind of background. You just hear the statues awaken and then you "see" one or two walking while in the movie it's in the foreground, everyone looks at it, they have their role in the main battle (I even think I saw a statue during the CA scene on the bridge when the ogre gets blown off, but I might be wrong)...
So it isn't at all the same imo.
