Just a question I wondered about: Why did Helena Ravenclaw want the diadem destroyed in the first place? Before Tom Riddle turned it into a horcrux.

Because of it's powers to make the bearer smarter? Maybe she kept getting drawn to it, making her do bad things just to get her hands on it, so she wanted it gone.

I thought it was that she stole it off her mother in the book to try and gain her mother's talent but the Baron killed her.
Voldemort got it and made it dark and tainted, so I guess that's why she wanted it destroyed, I didn't think she wanted it destroyed in the book
