Most underated HP movie?

im gonna go with OOTP. Sure they left alot out but i believe the script is super strong and the acting deffinitely stepped it up.

    OotP too.

It's a very fast-paced, dynamic, and exciting flick.
Tell me you didn't stay on the edge of you seat during the Ministry climax.

DH1 is very underated. People always say that it was a boring movie and that it was unnecessairy to split the book in 2 movies.

Most screentime she ever had. And most action. And most lines.

for me its one of the best made films of the saga. Its simple yetpowerful and really lets the trio shine

And she hadn't that much screentime and lines. They reallly fucked up her whole character. Or was it Tena that ruined it?

It was Yates, Goldenberg, and Kloves that killed her. Not Tena. Tena has the perfect Tonks personality.

    I was being sarcastic.
    Critically, I'd say Dh1.
Order of the Phoenix as well I guess.

I don't look at it that way. I am able to see the book for what it is and the movie for what it is.

That doesn't make it more or less underrated.

If you stop watching the movie as adaptations and start watching as independent pieces of art, you'll be surprised. That's why I love the Half-Blood Prince. The movie works so well by its own. :D

That's why these movies are adaptations.

Or do you think showing the "monster" that Harry felt inside him would work on film?

All of the movies appeal to different people. GOF for people who love action and big scenes like the tasks. The early films for people who just love the ideas of the books, the whole magical feel that they have. DH is where IMO the series becomes moree than just movies, part 1 and 2 set the saga on a new pedestal, showcasing two near flawless parts that both have a connecting story of harrys perserverance.

Half-Blood Prince is a beautiful piece of art.
To me it's the closest we got from an artsy picture.

The cinematography makes it look like a painting. Everything looks so magical.
And it's not only about the visuals. Half-Blood Prince is extremely competent in every single aspect.

I won't lie, I would also have loved to see more memories, but the decision of excluding most of them was probably for the sake of the movie's better pace and understanding.

HBP has a few problems. 1, Scrimgeour needed to be in it to carry the political themes from OotP to DH1. 2, the horcruxes needed to be cleared up a BIT more, whether by adding more memories, or expanding the dialogue. 3, Lupin and Tonks needed more time to make their deaths more poignant in Part 2, and Dobby needed a cameo in the film to create a greater impact for Part 1.

Well, guys. All of your complains are book/adaptation related. As I said, try watching the movie as a piece of filmmaking only. ;)

'The Other Minister' - That whole sequence could've been added.

As fans of the books and films, it's ok to nitpick certain things about the adaption. :D

I love Half-Blood Prince opening sequence.
The bridge collapse is incredibly thrilling.

  • Half-Blood Prince, hands down. I'm fucking sick of people whining about 15 minutes of romance and humour in a Two and half hour movie, which it's from the book, and not recognice The acting, the Golden Age feeling in the scenes, The intimacy of the characters (Like Evanna said, it's a character driven film), the setup to the apocalyptic events in Deathly Hallows. The only thing it would have made The movie perfect it's the funeral.

  • I would say Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone.

It's become a classic. Every time I watch it, it has that timeless quality.

The visuals are not the best. Nor is the acting, the chromatography, etcetc.

Who fucking cares though? It's the movie that started it all and it isn't as appreciated as much IMO.
