I'm the only one who has noticed how different the cinematography looks from the other Nolan movies?
In a good way, yes. I've also noticed. That last shot (alone) in the second TV spot, shows us just how awesome it will look in Imax. It's reminds me ever so slightly of the final battle in The Avengers. Yes, I've finally seen it.
I mean, that's a lot. I immediately try and think of 3+ hour movies that are gold and amazing, as this is expected to be, and it's gonna have one hell of a tough time matching those.
Needless to say though, I'm fucking stoked. I've never been one to criticize a movie for being too long, am I slightly worried because I felt TDK was already too long to begin with? Yeah, but then I stop and think: TDK didn't have a battle and this does, so we'll see. Plus, there's a possible chance a big load is Bruce Wayne character building that was left out of TDK, in which case it should be a-okay.
I don't know, everything we've heard is contradictory. That one report said it was only going to be just over 2 hours. Also, I have mixed feelings: 3 hours is the perfect length to give it a proper climactic battle with tons of chaos unleashed upon Gotham. However, a longer runtime will hurt its box office and, more importantly, will probably cause it to feel very overbloated.
I hope they release many to increase the casual audience awareness of the film, but I'm scared at WB is going to release. If there become too many I might just have to abstain from new footage. :P And there's a rumor another one might debut with the Heat game tonight.
So if the VFX are finished, Bane's voice is touched up, and they have enough prepared footage to start rolling out the TV adverts, I imagine all they have left to do is some more cutting and then sound work to do (including adding in the score. I doubt Zimmer is finished yet).

Alright, yeah I agree that 3 hours seems something WB wouldn't do cough OOTP cough.
I think 2.5, if it has a proper climatic battle with tons of chaos, should suffice. Three hours just seems too long unless this briefly heard rumor I saw:
Spoiler:
That Wayne is apparently out "Batman" for 8 years? Yeah I didn't think it was true, but idk....
In which case, then character study on them away from the action over that time could totally add to it being 3 hours.
Which is why I think they're going to spend a lot of time devoted to introducing Gotham and Bruce's situation eight years later, including some time with Bruce recommencing relations with his friends, getting back out as Batman and "getting back in the game." Also they have to introduce Selina.
Then, there will be a significant portion of the film devoted to Bane's arrival and the havoc he wreaks around Gotham. This will also be the part (most likely) where Bruce gets thrown into the prison and gets his back broken in a fight with Bane.
Probably a brief calm-before-the-storm sequence which involves Selina in prison, turning into Catwoman, Gotham under Bane's rule, and Gordon in the hospital.
Then, the final battle begins (which is going to be huge) with police fighting back against Bane's mercs, the destruction of the Gotham stock exchange, military intervention, bridges exploding, hostages on motorcycles, Batwing, riot on the steps of City Hall, etc.
That is going to be a hell of a lot to cover in 2.5 hours.

Honestly, character study on comic book characters are the best. That's why Spidey 1 and 2 are still my favorite.
