Director Steven Spielberg has signed on to direct Bradley Cooper in American Sniper, based on the autobiography by Navy SEAL Chris Kyle.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the story details how Texas native Kyle came to record the highest number of sniper kills for an American. Tragically, he was killed at a shooting range by a fellow vet in February. You can read an in-depth account of his story at the D Magazine website.
Spielberg will produce the film alongside Cooper, Andrew Lazar and Peter Morgan. Jason Hall wrote the script. A Q1 2014 start date is currently slated at Warner Bros.

HenrickI couldn't see Argo in Ben Affleck when he won, back in 2004, the Razzie Awards for worst actor in THREE movies of that year: Daredevil (2003), Gigli (2003) and Paycheck (2003).

Lord StaffordFair enough, but can you see it in Kristen Stewart? I'm sure no one knew what Steven Spielberg would accomplish when he was young, and there's the difference. Sure, everybody is different, and for all I know, Kristen Stewart might come out with something akin to a masterpiece. Here's my question to you: can you see it yourself? Ben Affleck has always had talent, and Kristen Stewart isn't exactly terrible, but you, like so many others, including me, have no doubt expressed your distaste for her in the past.

HenrickBen Affleck has ever been a mediocre actor at the most and I would put him in the same level of Kristen Stewart (acting wise). Now, complaining about she trying to do other things is just nitpicking. Sofia Coppola was massacred by her acting in the Godfather: Part 3 and no one would ever imagine that she would become one of the most expressive contemporary scriptwriters and directors. So let Kristen be.
