    Watched DH 1 and 2 back to back, and see a major difference between the two films, they seem like they can stand on their own. Part 1 just deals with the journey and Part 2 was the battle. To me they felt like two different films.

      I partly agree with that. I think they can stand on their own, but I also think that the beginning of Part 2 up until Hogsmeade feels like Part 1, but after Hogsmeade when they get to Hogwarts it feels like a completely different film.

      Well, that's exactly how the book is. Go read the book up until Shell Cottage, then read after that. It'll feel very different.

      Anyways, the flow between the two is so seamless, it feels like one movie. Part 2 just feels like the 3rd act of the long movie, really. To me at least.
