Getting tired of people majorly criticizing films because they didn't satisfy them in an entertaining way. A lot of people seem to forget that film is an art form primarily, and most directors (the fucking good ones) will treat it as such, rather than simply a means of entertainment. A film can not be truly entertaining to you, but it can still be an extremely impressive work of art. Like, I absolutely loathed Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy. I found it dull, I couldn't care less about any of the characters, and I thought it was an hour too long. But there's a fucking good reason it was nominated for Best Picture. Because it was a brilliant work of art. ART is why films are made. They're not made to give you an erection.
