Really? You liked it that much, crux? Damn. I didn't think TDKR was nearly as good as The Dark Knight, but for me it pipped Spidey easily. I just felt like they put so much great effort into his origin story, making it credible, drawing you in, and then when the Lizard popped up they threw all that good work out in the interests of big set-pieces, which reduced it to utter tosh. Now there's nothing wrong with utter tosh but when it rides on the heels of a semi-realistic opening it doesn't work. My suspension of disbelief got smoked. I think I had this reboot too pumped up in my mind, though, especially after how fucking abominable Raimi's Spidey 2 and 3 were. I thought this reboot was going to be the Spidey I wanted the first time around. And for twenty minutes or so, it was. But they just couldn't sustain it. May I ask what appealed to you so much? The best movie I've seen this year so far and leagues ahead of TDKR.
