Several new pieces of casting information have started to filter.

'The Office' star Mackenzie Crook is thought to have taken a 'small role' in the first part of the screen adaption of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
Its is still yet to be revealed what part he will play.

Relative Unknown Richard Cant has supposedly signed to play evil dark wizard 'Gellert Grindelwald', an old adversary of Dumbledore (Michael Gambon)

Also joining in a cameo role is legendery Coronation street star Thelma Barlow, Again nothing has been revealed about what role she is taking.

Imelda Staunton has also confirmed she will be reprising her role as Dolores Umbridge. Her role has been 'significantly expanded' from the book. She begins filming in October.

John Hurt will be returning as Mr. Ollivander

Toby Jones has confirmed he will also return as Dobby the house elf

Filming for both Deathly Hallows films began on February 19, mostly involving the trio. A massive forest has been constructed at Leavsden studios and the majority of the 'camping' scenes are being shot.
All hogwarts scenes are not being shot until the later half of the year.

The ministry heist is filming throughout September and October.

The first film ends with the destruction of one of Voldemorts Horcruxes.
There are several Major wand battles that take place, including Umbridge vs Harry, Hermione vs Bellatrix and Molly Weasley even picks up a wand.
The epilogue is in, Special effects supervisor is talking about using cgi to 'age' the trio. This technique was employed for X-Men 3.

There are a few changes from the book but it is the most 'faithful' adaption of the work since 'Chamber of Secrets'

Only major change i can think of is that Tonks parents have been cut,

    Ill keep you all posted

    Also
  1.
Can i ask how do you know all these things ?
    Thanks anyway . . .

I feel like an old story is being repeated :P (Scoop , Michael !)
  2.
Not sure if this could be trusted.
But, Thelma Barlow would make a good Bathilda Bagshot.

phew.... the word SPOILERS might be useful at the begining..

Harry vs Umbridge? i must reread the book.. didn't hermione crucio her or something like that? i don't remember well...

"The prologue is in, Special effects supervisor is talking about using cgi to 'age' the trio." ...isn't it EPILOGUE?

about Thelma Barlow, she might be either Ron's aunt, Bathilda Bagshot or Neville's Granmother

Richard Griffiths confirmed he's in DH by saying he and Dan were flying back from New York to film it.

whowhatwear said that clemence poesy chose not to appear in the HP films. That's not the case. It was just she was never contacted for HBP. DH is still up in the air, as far as we're concerned.

    Here we go: http://moviesblog.mtv.com/2008/02/11/fleur-delacour-wont-appear-in-half-blood-prince-says-harry-potter-actress/

She still seems perfectly up for returning

    So

    OUT

Emma Thompson (Sybill Trelawney) - Interferes with her baby, Nanny McPhee 2

    UNKNOWN

Ralph Fiennes (Voldemort) - High possibility he will return, though nothing confirmed
Clemence Poésy (Fleur Delacour) - High possibility she will be in, though nothing confirmed
Ralph Ineson (Amycus Carrow) - Little more than an extra in HBP, but is likely to be in Deathly Hallows as well
Nick Moran (unknown - Probably the Death Eater minister for magic, Thicknesse) - Rumoured to have been overheard boasting about being cast as a bad guy
Fiona Shaw (Petunia Dursley) - It's not confirmed, but since Richard Griffiths is returning, it's pretty much a dead cert
Harry Melling (Dudley Dursley) - See above
Mark Williams (Arthur Weasley) - Still not confirmed, but another dead cert
James and Oliver Phelps (Fred and George Weasley) - See above
John Hurt (Ollivander) - Not confirmed, but I believe he is up for returning and they've set up his return in HBP, so another dead cert

    IN

Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter) - ...well duh
Rupert Grint (Ron Weasley) - see above
Emma Watson (Hermione Granger) - again, see above
Alan Rickman (Severus Snape) - *sigh* and again
Michael Gambon (Albus Dumbledore) - and again
Maggie Smith (Minerva McGonagall) - Some are doubtful because of her illness, but that hasn't stopped her from carrying on with filming other things and she IS getting better, so there is no reason for her to not be in Hallows
Miriam Margolyes (Pamona Sprout) - Her return has been confirmed
Timothy Spall (Peter Pettigrew) - No reason for him not to participate
Helen McCrory (Narcissa Malfoy) - Again, no reason for her not to return
Jason Isaacs (Lucius Malfoy) - Would absolutely never turn down the role, so it's pretty much confirmed he's back
Julie Walters (Molly Weasley) - It's a given
Geraldine Somerville (Lily Potter) - Confirmed she will return
David Thewlis (Remus Lupin) - Again, it's a given
Natalia Tena (Nymphadora Tonks) - Again, it's pretty much a given
Helena Bonham-Carter (Bellatrix Lestrange) - And again
Steffan Rhodri (Reg Cattermole (the character Ron transforms into whilst infiltrating the ministry))
Michelle Fairley (Mrs Granger) - Confirmed her role
Richard Griffiths (Vernon Dursley) - Confirmed he is returning
Dave Legeno (Greyback) - Not confirmed, but he's obviously going to be returning
Bonnie Wright (Ginny Weasley) - See above
Evanna Lynch (Luna Lovegood) - Again, see above
Tom Felton (Draco Malfoy) - And again
Toby Jones (voice - Dobby) - Confirmed he would be voicing Dobby once again in DH
UNKNOWN (Bill Weasley) - A very, very reliable source on IMDb has confirmed his inclusion in the films

I've probably missed several other obvious ones

No, he didn't focus on it. It was just something in passing, about how he was working in Spain and he had the Harry Potter people come out and fit him for a costume. It definitley wasn't a joke
  7.
Fitting him in wizard robes. Wonder who he will be playing? I really can't think of many people.
It's got to be quite a prominant role as he's quite a big name.
  8.
    Thanks Wilbo !

    Rhys Ifans = Xeno Lovegood

Although I think Rowan Atkinson would be a better choice for Xenophilius

Definately not the image I had in my head. But with a crazy wig and robes I'm sure he'll do a great job. He certainly knows how to play characters with a few screws loose.

ginny weasley, love your name btw

but i am keeping an open mind because new moon has a new director and it's the best of the books
it's not all about the books

btw on newmoonmovie.org they are talkin about jamie as caius AND grindelwald so am happiness

do you know how many harry potter fans there are there?
  12.
In my opinion Hazel Douglas will make an excellent Bathilda Bagshot! Also, I really hope they make final fight in part 2 of DH big, because it's a really emotional and important part of the book. Michelle Fairley will make an exceptional Mrs.Granger, she is actually like I always imagined her!
I'm so looking forward to Bill and Fleur's wedding! Also, when was there a Umbridge vs Harry bit in the Ministry of Magic? Did I miss it? Maybe I'll re-read it :S.
Excited, also about Grindelwald, I want him to be special, he is a favourite character of mine, and Mundungus Fletcher is a main part to me. He basically, kills Mad-eye Moody, gives away that Harry is leaving a few days before his seventeenth, and he sells the horcrux locket to Umbridge. I will be really upset if he isn't included >.<
But I was really annoyed when they left Winky, Dobby and Ludo Bagman out in the last films! Dobby's death really upset me, and he helps Harry get out of the Malfoy's Cellar!
Wonder who is going to play Dumbledore's younger brother, can't remember his name.. Albert was it?
If they dare leave it out, I think I'll have a hissy ^.^
